General

Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We have aimed to make our website text as simple as possible to understand and added an Accessibility Widget by UserWay.org which we believe makes our website partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. In addition users with a disability may refer for advice on making a device easier to use on the Ability Net website https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/

Enabling our Website’s Accessibility Menu
The accessibility menu can be accessed via the blue and white icon located on the left-hand side at the foot of each page. Clicking on the icon will enable a menu to load which includes the following options:

• Keyboard navigation
• Contrast
• Bigger Text
• Pause Animation
• Screen Reader
• Highlight Links
• Text Spacing
• Dyslexia Friendly

For more information on how to use the UserWay icon, you can visit https://userway.org/

Non-Accessible Content

Bishop’s Cleeve Parish Council has worked with its website developer, Koodooweb, to make all pages and content on the website accessible, but there may be some content which has not yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. Whilst recently uploaded pdf files are in an accessible format, older pdf documents may not be fully accessible. We are aware that some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This applies, for example, to information on the What’s On page which is provided by external organisations. There are also links to other websites which are outside of our control and may not provide the same level of accessibility as ours.

Reporting Accessibility Problems
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any problems or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact the Clerk.
